1. Legal Function

All applicable laws and regulations

Actively support the local management team in legal matters and management of legal risks

Act as a business partner to support internal projects/activities from a legal perspective

Advise on new aspects of the law when business models are changing due to digitalization (e.g., IT alliances, data sharing arrangements, e-commerce agreements)

Review and approval of promotion and advertising materials to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Ensure that contracts are effectively drafted, reviewed, and vetted with relevant laws and regulations

Closely monitor developments and trends in the legal environment

Detect and assess legal risks and develop adequate strategies/action plans to minimize risk exposure

Actively manage local partnerships with external legal advisors

Manage legal disputes/cases in close collaboration with internal stakeholders

Manage statutory requirements of the legal entity (e.g. Annual Shareholder Meeting, changes in Board of Directors) and maintain corporate licenses


2. Compliance Function

Actively advise on fostering a mindset/culture of compliance

Develop, deliver and maintain communication to ensure local organizations’ compliance awareness and knowledge

Ensure that all employees are trained appropriately and training records are maintained.

Ensure compliance with global standards/ guidelines (e.g. Code of Conduct, Directives, SOPs) and local laws

Ensure effective as well as efficient processes and tools are in place to manage compliance; drive initiatives for continuous improvement

Define and maintain local policies/SOPs according to the regulatory environment and global/regional directives and policies

Build a thorough business understanding to provide adequate support to the business. Develop an internal network to stay informed about planned/executed activities

Lead local implementation of initiatives cascaded by Global/Regional Compliance

Closely monitor trends and changes of relevant global, regional and local requirements and standards


3. Organization & People Management

Education & Qualification & Experience

Master in law or equivalent; admission as a legal practitioner/lawyer is required

10-12 years minimum working experience in the legal field within a big law firm or multinational Company environment, preferably from the pharma or medical device industry.

Ability to interact at senior level, manage key stakeholders and influence others and to provide accurate, high-quality yet practical and concise legal advice

Strong track record in managing legal activities and management of legal risks

Team player and strong ability to drive results through collaboration across various functions
