Position Summary

Leads and manages Employee Relations business change and Employee Relations cases within a single geography. Ensures policies and procedures for use in the location are legally compliant, in step with the objectives and ethics of the business and designed to be as simple as rules and fair application will allow. Will take the lead role on significant business changes and advise others within Human Resources on policy development. Reporting to the local HR Director.

Accountabilities

  • Develops and implements employee relations strategies and broader employee engagement programmes, policies and processes well aligned with business requirements
  • Build strong & strategic relationships amongst the key stakeholders (e.g., management, union, KOL employees, legal councils, government officers) allowing positive, open, and transparent interactions
  • Liaises with the business leadership team on employee relations issues and collaborates with local HR Business Partners and other Centres of Excellence to ensure the initiatives have a positive impact on employee relations
  • Plans and leads employee relations negotiations and activities such as collective bargaining, annual wage bargaining, LMC (Labour Management Council)
  • Provides strong supports in culture changes toward a high-performing organization that requires continuous changes in employee behaviours and mindset
  • Develops and conducts training to people managers and employees to update latest information of local labour law and ensure how they can build positive environment in employee relations
  • Ensures compliance with corporate policies and procedures, as well as local laws and regulations related to employee relations
  • Monitors employee relations trends and practices through the analysis of external and internal HR metrics that covers employment relations policies, identifying issues that may impact existing policies. And proactively support people managers in managing potential risks in people
  • Accountable for investigating all allegations of Sexual Harassment and Bullying and Harassment within country, ensuring strict adherence to the global and local processes 

Qualifications

  • Ability to negotiate union contracts, and labour disputes and grievances
  • Experience dealing with Works Councils (e.g., LMC)
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferable
  • Supervisory experience and proven experience driving change
  • Certified Public Labor Attorney preferred
  • Experience managing the employee and labour relations function
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization
